Notification help

[AC Question]

So I switched from an iPhone to samsung galaxy s7 and I'm trying to figure out the messaging stuff. I loved that I could see who sent a message but not what they sent on the lock screen. So I got the chomp sms app. And that works awesome. But I want to still get notification pop ups while using my phone. And all that it does is make a sound when I get a text. Please say there's something that can help me.

I've never used Chomp so I can only advise you regarding the native Message App. I'm sorry that i didn't understand what exactly you were trying to see or not see. But I think you meant that you want to see who's texting you, but NOT what the conversation is about?

Here's the area you can look in for that, regarding the Native Message App, not Chomp.

Goto: Settings>Personal>Lock Screen & Security>Notifications> then select the top link "Notifications on lock screen."

Hit hide content if you don't want it to show the actual message.
