Nexus 5 phone is stuck on bootloop (4 spinning circles)

AC Question

So my phone has been stuck on the 4 spinning circles for about a day now. I've tried getting it into recovery mode, but when I do that it gets to this image of a robot on its back with the words "no command". I then did some research and tried holding the power button + up volume button and releasing them both after, but it still doesn't work. I've tried it lots of times, and unless I can't get the timing down, the phone proceeds to turn off, then turn itself back on again, restarting the loop. Any suggestions?

The correct method is to press and hold Power, then press Volume Up once, thereafter releasing both. But perhaps you did that?

Yeah, I already tried that. (I made an account instead of just being anonymous)

Edit: If it helps clarify, the "no command" robot disappears after a couple of seconds (5ish?), and the phone proceeds to reboot itself, restarting the loop
