Thank you, Belodion. Here's my question: I recently contracted the SC Cyber Police Virus. I do not use or view porn so I knew it was a form of malware. What I didn't know was how difficult it was going to be for me to eradicate this virus from my phone. After reading several posts on the issue-almost all from the same company, I FINALLY found a method that worked, to get my S5 into "safe mode." Trying to find the malware app has completely eluded me. Finally, I decided to save my photos and contacts and do a factory reset. I'm unsure as to what I should do: a back up and reset ? I was thinking about this: since I've been unable to locate the malware app, if I 'back up and reset', I'll likely be re-installing the malware app, right? So what do I do? Thankfully, I haven't downloaded many apps nor do I have many contacts or photos so even if I can't retrieve my contacts, I have them saved in a notebook. Nonetheless, I'd like to confirm with an android 'expert' what my next step should be. It further states that I won't be able to use or encrypt data-something like that, after a factory reset. Sorry, my tech lingo sucks the big one. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help I'm given.
Regards,
Vee Cee
