Galaxy 2s 9.7 tablet won't turn on after powering off

Since I only had the tablet for one day after leaving the store, got it working, wanted to make sure I knew how to use it so I turned it off to charge. (I'm a novice at this tablet) (Owned iPad previously.) When I tried to power it up, it would not start.
