Samsung S4 has broken

My phone will not turn back on at all. It has gotten slower recently and was asking me to upgrade software which I had not done. Today while I was using my phone the screen turned blue and froze completely. I have tried to turn it on but can only get as far as the opening screen. Just there I held the volume button, home button and power button to try restart but no luck.

Plug in the charger and leave it for 24 hours. If it's not a bad battery, it's bad hardware in the phone - and considering that the phone is worth around $100 (or less), it may not pay to repair it.
