rooting problems.

when I downloaded root checker basic it said my device was not rooted but when I turn my phone on it had a lock and it said custom plz help me I don't know what this means how can I fix it??

Do you have a superuser app in your phone? Your root was probably lost after custom changes were made. Check for updates for your superuser app install them then open superuser and it should pop up saying that your binary needs an update. Say yes.
