Why do I receive my text as a group message of one number and my own number?

So when I text some people (android users), I received their replies as a group message of that number and my own number. For example, I text (Jesse) but his reply comes back as a new thread of (Jesse, Me). It's a group message of him and my number. This happens with some other people too, just android users. I have the samsung galaxy s7 edge. I've tried to google it but I haven't found any solution to this issue. It is super irritating.
