How do I take off the searching for service icon from my screen

How do I take off the "searching for service" icon from my Samsung galaxy core screen?

Welcome to Android Central! Is it actually searching for cell service because you don't currently have signal? It's a system message, so I doubt you can get rid of it (unless you root the phone, perhaps). If you use the phone without a SIM card, then I suggest turning on Airplane Mode, which should get rid of that message. You can then turn wi-fi back on while in Airplane Mode.
