Note 5 Warranty

[AC Question]

My note 5 has a number of issues and Verizon said they can replace it since its under warranty. Well the phone got so hot once when I went to pick it up i dropped it and it got a crack in the back verizon guy suggested I get the back plate replaced by a professional and then I can turn it in under warranty and get it replaced. Now my worry is that the original back plate has the imei number on it and when it's replaced the new back plate of course won't have that and will only feature the Verizon logo. So if i turn it in and the Samsung people notice that the imei isn't there they will charge me $300. The repair guy said they probably won't notice so im wondering if it's that big of a deal. So can someone tell me how this all works. Thanks

It's a gamble......you just have to understand and accept the consequences if it doesn't work out the way you want it to......
