why will the top part of my touch screen work but not the bottom?

I replaced the glass and lcd. Now the top half will work when touched but not the bottom. It is password protected and I can't put in the password.

It could be a bad connection (in the plug on the end of the digitizer cable) or a bad digitizer (the "glass").
