Why wont my card tray fully eject?

I have a new moto z play. When I use the tool to eject the sim/SD card tray it comes out 1 mm maybe. This has happened every time I try since I got it. How can I get it out?

Welcome to the forums. I would use the pin to pull it out enough to grab it with your fingers. I have a couple devices with trays, and they only come out a small amount.
