I can't find downloaded mp4 files, help?

So I downloaded a bunch of videos from the internet (mp4 format) and they only show up in "Downloads". I watched them with "Video Player" then deleted them from "Downloads" because they were taking up space. I went back to storage and saw that it didn't free up any space because deleting them from "Downloads" just means removing them from my download history.

In "My Files", I searched "mp4" and looked under storage/emulated/0/downloads but I couldn't find them. I downloaded another video and didn't clear it from my history to see if it would show up in "My Files" but it didn't.

Can anybody please help me?

"Downloads" is a folder on your internal storage.
Using a file browser app, take a look in that folder and see if the videos are there.

What app did you use to originally delete the videos?
Some file browser apps implement a "recycle bin" or "trash" folder. This gives you the ability to "undo" the delete, but it also means that the file is not actually deleted, thus still taking up space.
