I'm not getting my notificationsfor my messages

I'm not getting any notifications for my messages. I went to the settings & nothing.Its not letting me know I have a meeting. I'm constantly checking my phone.

Not sure what device/software you have there.. with marshmallow, you can set notifications from a number of places.. in settings... Notifications...
You also have settings within the actual apps you want to be notified by, messages, planner etc. So open the actual application, find settings within the app , find notifications and make sure they are on.. if you have no joy, come back and tell us with details of device, software, app failing to notify....
