Screen becomes unresponsive after charging.

I have a lenovo tab s8 50-f and after charging the tablet the screen becomes unresponsive to touch. I can't even unlock it and I have to pop the back cover off, disconnect the battery plug, plug it back in, put the back cover on and reboot the device to get the touchscreen to respond. Just rebooting the device does not work. The tablet then works perfectly fine with no issues at all until I charge it and the touchscreen stops working again.
