Can't upload my pictures

[AC Question]

When I hook my phone to the computer to upload photos it says "the folders empty". When you look at it in Windows Explorer, you can see that the phone is connected to the computer, but no subfolders open up.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Is the screen unlocked? Swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon -- make sure MTP or File Transfer is selected. Now try again with Windows Explorer.
