I have a Motorola Droid Razr M (originally with Verizon) ... i bought this phone. Now, I would like to transfer service to Straight Talk Wireless. My son took the original micro sim card out, put in the STraight Talk micro sim card. When he activated the phone, it said that it did not recognize the sim card. he called in to Straight talk and they told him that it was locked.

We have been searching for 2 weeks for the way to "unlock" this phone so that the money we spent on the activation kit is not lost.
my husband is a dialysis patient. i am a cancer patient. we NEED a phone. sigh.

From what I have read the RAZR M is Sim unlocked for international but locked to Verizon for US usage.

It will never work. You need a former AT&T or T-Mobile phone to use Straight Talk. The SIM card part only controls the data on that phone. It does not control the phone calling. An AT&T or T-Mobile's SIM card does.
