I have a rooted (via one click) Froyo.EC05. I'd like to updated to it to GB, but rather avoid data wipe and need to reroot. How can I update it to Rooted GB without the need to restore all my apps/data?

Grab Titanium Backup or My Backup Root from the Market and make a backup of all your apps..

Since your already rooted on Froyo EC05 you can flash any GB custom ROM and then just re download Titanium or MyBackup Root and restore your DATA ONLY to your apps. Don't restore system apps since there is some changes between Froyo & GB...

I did as Paul suggested from SRF ROM.

nandroid
full data wipe
Install EI22 modem
Install ROM
Install Kernel

set up gmail, redownload titanium / my back up root and restore apps...I never heard not to restore apps before Pauls post....but do know those who have had issues they can uninstall and reinstall to fix.
