Hi,

I noticed the internal memory keeps getting used on my phone (Optimus One). As it is only 170mb max I want to use more of the external SD memory instead to preserve speed.

I haven't installed any apps but have sync'ed google apps like contacts/mail and this seems to use up internal memory. How can I change it so everything is stored on external SD card instead?

I am running android froyo 2.2

Install a custom ROM. :p

Seriously though, there is no good way of making space for apps without rooting on some phones.

Go through and delete unnecessary text, email, and clear caches on apps to free up additional memory. You can go into the application settings and select were to install apps; either onto the sd card or phone memory. An app that is moved to the sd card will leave data on the phone for security purposes.

If you root you have options to fully install apps on the sd card or use an ext partition to increase the phones memory.
