I would like to elimination the notification sounds for everything except for texts. How do I do that? This is driving me crazy. Thanks

And if you installed any bloatware app managers or profile managers, you'll have to change them also. But if not, just the stock apps.

Here are a few I found while searching Google: AudioManager Timeriffic There are plenty more. Use the above to narrow your search down to what you are looking for.
