Pay extra for new phone replacement?

So I'm gonna get a replacement phone using my warranty, but they only let you get refurbs. Would it be possible for me to pay extra to get a new phone (of the same model)? Thanks

Depends on the carrier and the kindness of the CSR. If it's Warranty and you have a documented case of chronic problems then they will usually agree to a new device. If it's Insurance, your chances are less. So break out the charm and give it a shot.
