Can't charge xperia arc s

I have a Xperia arc s (LT18i) running ICS. I'm able to use USB tether with my PS3 slim (4.25) to signin the PlayStation Network, but whenever I plug the phone into my PS3, the message, " an unknown USB device has been connected". Also, the phone won't charge thru my PS3, but works with any laptop or PC I've tried. Do I have to hack my phone or my PS3? I need help, please.
