Hi. I'm Laura and I have had my android about a year now and am looking to root it. Anyone have a step by step guide for dummies? Lol...I'm not very tech savvy I guess after reading all this.. I have an Optimus T p509.
Thanks, but I've already watched that video. Z4root wont work cause I have android 2.2.2. It'll only work on lesser ones. I tried downloading the gingerbreak but it wont open. Should I be connected to a pc? I had already been on the (root guide) link u provided but no step-by-step instructions. Do I connect to pc before I do anything? Thanks, any help appreciated. I've been reading, researching and trying for 2 days
since you are in 2.2.2 you should use gingerbreak. I dont know what you mean gingerbreak wont open. its an android application.
file link is here http://androidforums.com/optimus-t-...t-p509-root-clean-system-memory-know-how.html
download(to your computer) and place(using a usb cable) the gingerbreak file on your sdcard in phone and use a file manager like Astro(https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ps/details?id=com.metago.astro&token=L_-Ap0sb) to click on it and it will try to install. install astro by opening market and search for astro.
unknown source has to be enabled in settings like mentioned in the video. after installing, open the app and click permanently root.
thats it.
I already found and downloaded Astro but the link that you gave me to gingerbreak is invalid. I'll try to find another link and try again. Last time it kept giving me an error message. Thanks so much for trying to help
