transfer text and phone logs from Spectrum to Spectrum

Hello, had to get a replacement LG Spectrum phone from Verizon. I want to transfer text and possibly phone logs from old to new phone. I saw SMS backup app was used but, how do I start and what is the procedure? I have both phones but only 1 battery. I'm not a tech guy. thank you
