Google Maps: Editing starred/saved addresses?

Just started saving addresses in Google Maps, using the star. I wanted to name them but you can't do that in the phone. I looked it up online and you can go to google.com/bookmarks and edit the entries.

So I did the edits and they worked online, but it doesn't transfer to the phone. Made sure to sync the phone, nothing. Rebooted the phone, nothing.

Is the new version of Maps not compatible with the bookmarks page?

No.

Install MyDirections. It's like Contacts for Maps. You can edit an address (or the name associated with that address). If you set it (in Preferences) to Navigate as the default action, it'll run Maps set to navigate you from your current location to the one you pressed in MyDirections. (Set Direction type to Driveway if you want car navigation. IIRC, the default is public transportation.)

It's even better than using the old Navigation app (which is what Maps is, "improved").
