I have a OnePlus One.
I would like to factory reset but I want to save all my data (do a backup)
In order to do a nandroid backup I need TWRP which either involves root or unlocking the bootloader (I think).
Backup apps usually require root too.
All these options wipe the phone.
So...
How do I save all my data when all the methods of saving my data require me to first lose all my data? Or is it too late for me. Without rooting before using the phone, I'm stuck?

I couldn't get Helium to work on my OnePlus because no matter what I tried I couldn't get the ADB driver to recognize when the phone is connected to the PC with USB debugging on. This is from two different OnePluses, different USB cables, and different computers Windows 7 and 8. And I'm usually the guy who help other people find the correct ADB drivers.

Maybe it'll work better on Mac or Linux, but I haven't tried. But here are the links:

Otherwise you can try syncing the app data with your Google account and hope it'll save them.

Once you have root, you can use Helium without doing through any of the above.

I don't want to root though because -- well, at least not until after I have everything saved. Looks like I'm stuck. Unless Helium works for m.
