Disabling NON-system/carrier apps on unrooted device?

Hey fellas,

Just wanted to see if anyone knows of an app (or other means) that can disable non-system/carrier apps (i.e. downloaded from Play Store), without actually uninstalling them. I know if you're rooted there's ways to "freeze" apps, but I'm gonna hold off on rooting until my warranty lapses.

If anyone cares, I just want to disable infrequently used apps that are always running in the background. It's such a hassle to have to remember the names of these apps, find them, and reinstall them when I need them. Plus I have quite a few redundant apps (e.g. browsers, sms, etc.) that I occasionally switch between or use as backup. There are also those newer apps I come across that are promising but are not yet stable, for example, and I want to be notified of any future update, which I won't get if I uninstall.

SO basically, any app/method that will disable, or prevent the auto-starting & running of, non-system/carrier apps without uninstalling them on an unrooted device. Anything out there?
