Is there a way to control where an edited image is saved once editing is "done"?

Verizon LG G3: when I edit an image in the Gallery app - let's say a simple crop - by clicking on the pencil icon, I'm taken to (I believe) google's photo editing tools. Once I'm done editing, I click on the "done" check-box, and the edited image is automatically saved into a folder called "Pictures". Is there any way to control where this edited image is saved to? I'd rather it was just saved alongside the original image, rather than in another folder.

Normally that would be in settings, as a full path, and you'd have to edit it for each picture. (Some apps will save in the original folder, and just rename the file, others save in a single folder no matter where the original came from. It's the developer's choice, and sometimes they make one that most people disagree with.)
