TimeService/MonkeyTest trojan. How to remove

I've been infected by a trojan recently on my Samsung S2.
I have different application that are installed (games etc ..) without any notice.
I've installed MacAFee and he detected different thread
- TimeService
- MonkeyTest
- HTML Viewer
- com.android.provision.conf
MacAFee peridically propose me to remove them. Some of them (TimeService & MonkeyTest) can be removed. For the other one the "uninstallation not successful)

The only information I've found on the web is here:
https://blogs.mcafee.com/mcafee-labs/trojan-hides-rom-android-device

My device is not rooted.
I've done 2 times a factory reset. The trojan is still their (in ROM)

Is their somebody who faced similar issue and could help me ?

Regards

Re: TimeService/MonkeyTest trojan. How to remove

hi,
#Monkeytest.apk #TimeService.apk

Am having same problem for a week now. i hard reset without connecting to google account and voila.. the apps are back. i dont know how or when they got stuck into the ROM, but they just re-appear as soon as you un-install.

they keep poping ads by google and randomly install wasabee.apk or other similar application.

AVG detects them as threat/virus and uninstalls but cant prevent them from installing back,
so you keep removing them every 5mins they come back.. its so annoying. Hope they are
not steeling payment information from google.

Regards.

Welcome to Android Central! If you have continued problems, you may want to do a factory reset. Make sure your important data is backed up or synced beforehand. Also, go to Settings>Backup & Reset and uncheck "Automatically Restore."

After the reset and the Setup Wizard, go immediately to Google Play Store and stop any apps from automatically installing. Now start reinstalling your apps one by one, and be on the lookout for the return of this malware, since it may have come attached to some app you installed.

Re: Monkey test and time service

Try CleanMaster Security(CM Security)App....

Welcome to Android Central! It seems that the OP already has CleanMaster installed. Personally, I would shy away from CleanMaster or anything that Cheetah Mobile makes, because of some of its questionable practices (including adware, and how it promotes "boosting RAM" in ways that are counterproductive from the Android system standpoint). I'd suggest Malwarebytes, and maybe Lookout.

Hello there, Im need help to make this app removed completely as it is now keep auto installing themself.

I had google for a solutions and found some which advise the following:

1) Going to Settings>Security and uncheck Unknown Sources
2) Going to Settings>Backup & Reset and untick Backup my data and Automatic restore
3) Going to Playstore>Settings and untick Apps were auto-updated

However the problem still arise.

Thanks in advance guys

re: What is monkey test & time service?

It's probably due to some other app you installed. Or it could be malware. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the behavior stops. Alternatively, you could do a factory reset--then, after the Setup Wizard is done, go immediately to the Play Store and stop any app that might be automatically reinstalling.

re: What is monkey test & time service?

Thanks B. Diddy, got rid of the apps however not quite sure which apps was the culprit lol...
Unfortunately, other apps than that two had been installed hahahaha so I think I need to do factory reset which I try to avoid.

Could you help me about how to backup SMS, phone contact, call list and email?

re: What is monkey test & time service?

SMS Backup & Restore is one of the more popular SMS backup apps. You can also backup your call log with Call Logs Backup & Restore.

What email service and email app are you using? Your email should remain available on the web, so it'll just sync automatically. The exception would be if your email account uses a POP3 server, and you're using the stock Email app. In that situation, any email that synced with your phone may have been deleted from the server already.

For contacts, the ideal situation would be if all of them were associated with your Google account, because then they've already synced automatically with your Google Contacts in the cloud, and will resync back to the phone after a factory reset. But if they're associated with the Phone account, you'll need to sync or back them up using a 3rd party app (or export them and then reimport them after the factory reset).

Can you give more information, I have no idea what's going on here. If you ask your question providing more information, that improve your chances of someone knowing the solution to your problem.

AC Question

Monkey Test and Time Service Virus

I got infected with two malicious apps called Monkey Test and Time Service. They came through an app called memory boost. I uninstalled those apps but they install themselves when the phone reboots. The keep on downloading apps randomly. I am rooted so I have frozen them with lucky Patcher but I want to get rid of them. I tried using root explorer and went to data/app. There I found the apk files of monkey test and time service. When I try to delete the apk I get an error saying 'delete failed'. I tried using other file managers like ES File Explorer and FX but still they did not get deleted. Please help me.
