RAM space occupied!

See I'm planning to buy a new anroid phone. I'm afraid if 1 GB ram will be sufficient for smooth functioning of Android v4.4.4 (Kitkat)? How much space will be available for user? Will it be sufficient for all essential apps? Please advice.

Re: RAM space occupied!

Welcome to Android Central! Don't confuse RAM with Internal Storage (ROM). RAM is where active apps reside while in use. Internal Storage is where all of the app's files and data are stored. Android prefers to keep RAM mostly full (usually around 70-80%)--it's not like Windows, which prefers to keep RAM as empty as possible. If you're not using apps that are very RAM intensive, you shouldn't notice any real problems. But if you want to play big complex games, then you may want to look for something with at least 2 GB.
