Why does the master sync keep turning itself off?

My employer has a Galaxy (not sure of the model, but think it's an S5 or S6) and the master sync keeps turning itself off. When this occurs, he cannot get his emails. I know how to turn it back on, but was wondering how do I prevent this from happening in the first place!!
