Am I wasting time learning Android ?

I know programming in Java (and other languages) and want to get into Android development. But there is something that is bothering me. It may sound stupid but I want to know what others think. In this world, things changes very fast. Android is awesome and profitable for developers. If I devote hours and hours of my time in learning Android development, and after a month a new awesome technology is created, and Android disappears from existance, won't the time that I devoted to learning Android be wasted ?
