I agree with the majority of this.. although I'm not a dev, but having no approval process is not a bright idea. The market is full of IP violations.

add Adobe AIR into the mix and junk apps are going to skyrocket.

Google is a indexing search company, why can't they take some of their brilliance and apply it to the market?

where is the top weekly apps, top daily apps, favorites, google's picks, you know, the typical stuff that a market SHOULD HAVE..

A good idea would be for Google to buy appbrain and incorporate it into Android.

I hear you. I think android users are more interested in free apps. My app which is $1 has less than 100 downloads in five months but the free version with adds has 900 downloads in six weeks.

I'm almost making more money on the free version. I suggest placing adds in your app and see how that works for you.
