Best US cell plan for long distance to Canada

Hi all!

I'm taking my Nexus 4 on a cross country road trip. My plan is to pick up a US sim card and carrier plan for my journey.

I'm only going to be in the US for the week and want to make regular phone calls back to Canada.

I've tried researching some options but nothing stands out.

Any recommendations for an unlimited talk, text, and data plan with an international package are greatly appreciated.

Use Google Voice to call Canada for free.

For carrier options, Verizon is the only one with decent coverage outside of major cities. Verizon won't work with your Nexus though. Probably look into AT&T or T-Mobile prepaid options.
