As you can see from the graph, we are talking about a MAJOR battery drain of about 90% within just 6 hours with zero onscreen time. It is just amazing how we simple consumers are undertaking the role of developers for google, of course without getting paid. Anyone reading this from Google?

Just updated? First, clear the system cache, then leave the phone on the charger as much as possible for the first few days. New versions and new updates sometimes do tons of housekeeping initially, eating power for lunch.

Nope. Updated more than a week ago, cleared the system cache 3 times already. You cannot depend on the bloody phone. I was away from home, and the phone just died in my hands, without any obvious reason

I agree with Bront. The high battery usage by Google Play Services, together with the many Awakes, suggests to me that apps are requesting repeated location reporting. (I'm not suggesting that that's your diagnosis Bront but that's how I see it.)

^^^I noticed you recommended that in another thread and I'm going to give it a try. Can't do any harm.

Edit 1 week later: I've had Google Now off for several days and it does seem to have helped. I now wake the phone with less battery loss overnight, and fewer Awakes showing at the bottom of the expanded battery graph.
