Nexus 5 phone died and won't power up, what should I do?

Nexus 5 phone died and wont power up

So my Nexus 5 phone died after it hit 14% power. I put it on the charger and in the morning it wouldn't start up. Followed all the suggestions of power and volume buttons. Like others I get the Android robot and then it disappears . I finally got the four spinning colored circles, but phone has been doing it for three hours now.Any clue why?

Welcome to Android Central! Hopefully the motherboard or the memory chips didn't just fail. Can you boot into Recovery? http://forums.androidcentral.com/nexus-5-rooting-roms-hacks/352008-guide-nexus-5-recovery.html. If so, try wiping the cache partition, which can take 5-10 minute on a Nexus 5.

Mine was in a similar boot loop. It turned out the power button was stuck press or something.

I figured this out by getting into bootloader on one restart, and shortly after, it would restart again. I resolved the issue with a precise percussional adjustment (aka I gave it a good whack) near the power switch. Seemed to resolve its issue, but mind you I had already went to T-Mobile and picked up a Nexus 6.
