This is a check in thread for Google preorder that have asked for a refund on the shipping charge.
Please state:
-when you pre-order your device.
-if you have or have not received your N7 + or - accessories.
-when you asked for a refund on the shipping charge.
-the status on your refund.

June 27
July 18 Received N7+case June
July 19 Request Refund
Status: Currently waiting for email in response of my request for SC refund.


FYI Background

I just got off the phone with GS Rep and I ask for a refund on the shipping cost.($13.99) I was not rude but I was politely stern with the GS Rep. I expressed how I preorder my tablet on 6/27 while others for example preorder 8/10 recieve their tablet before me. Furthermore went to say I thought my situation was unfair and was not pleased. The GS Rep unfortunately could not give me a refund because it was not his department. He did however forward my request to another department that would look over my request. The GS Rep could not promise me my refund but that I should receive an email about my request for refund in the next 24hrs. I will tell you all how it goes.

So I called last Thursday regarding a refund on the shipping cost and I was told I would receive email in regards to my request with 24hrs. Well it's has been a week and still no e-mail from Google. I called today and talk to GSR and they told have "not been forgot" and that there is "queue" of emails regarding a refund. Then GSR went on to tell me their is "no time frame" but tried to reassure me they are responding to e-mails. I will keep you guys posted in a new thread.

Has anyone received a refund on the shipping cost? I am going call them today in the afternoon because still have not relieved my follow up e-mail.

I was told 14 business days from when they received it, which was the 23rd.

Update
Talk to a GC Rep regarding my refund.
I was ask if I could remember the last GC Rep name and I said no. I really don't no why that help because they only give you there first name anyways. I then ask the GC Rep if I was sent ae-mail that I just did not notice. He confirmed I was sent a e-mail but never what e-mail was about. In the ended he took down the last 4 digits of N7 order number and sent e-mail to the specialists again. Lastly GC Rep told me to call back next Wednesday if I don't receive e-mail. Before I got off the phone with him I made sure tell to leave his name in notes for accountability and history of on going issue. I forgot to mention I ask the GC Rep if people received their refund for shipping and he said "in some cases yes".

I wonder if some cases means when people keep calling until they receive a refund. I preordered the 27th and receive my N7 almost last. I call about refund over a month ago and can't get e-mail. Google I have admiration for products and your philosophy but you showing a crack in armor that may prove fatal for your play store or a least injure it for a while.

I really do wish you luck in your search for the elusive shipping refund - but when do you ask yourself how much money is your time worth?

Is it really worth 2 or 3 or 4 hours on the phone and typing e-mails and starting posts and threads on the forums to get $14.00 back?

When I bought my Nexus it clearly stated:
Price
Tax
Shipping

I knew I was paying for shipping when I clicked the "ACCEPT" Button...

Just my opinion...

I actually have been on hold since first time at all. I am connected usually less than five minutes. I hit accept button for product that was for "preorder". In my definition of preorder and what I have experienced with preorders is you get device before on same day as all retail or online stores. Furthermore when you preorder or regular order goes first come first serve bases. Now that could be by individual orders or set amount of orders but in the end it should go I'm chronological order.

Their many example of people ordering weeks after preorder was available and getting it before people that preorder with in minutes of availablity. Google failed in the handling and shipping process for their preorder customer. Regardless how great end product does not make for mistake they made IMO.

If you and others feel that you signed that waiver and that you have accept whatever treatment given to you well that is your right. My right is I can take action on principle I feel Google did not meet. I want to be able to order or preorder from play store that when I hit accept that if I have issue with preorder or order that they will correct it for me IMHO.

I got 10.50 of my 13.99 back and I'm happy.

I sent Google an email about $10.50 refund instead of the $13.99. I guess something is better than nothing. I am glad Google refunded my shipping because now I am more confident in purchasing other device from their store in the future.
