Hey guys,

My husband got me a 16g nexus 7 for my birthday about 14 days ago. Unfortunately the screen started to separate from the case and make a sticking sound when you pushed it down, so i had to exchange it for a new one. When I had my first nexus 7 and i added my google account to it. It downloaded all the apps i currently had on my phone and installed them. When I started up this new one it didn't do that. Is there anyway I can still have this done? Or am i going to have to go in and re download everything?

When I got my new Nexus 7 last month (which was and is perfect BTW...) I entered my Google account. I could then view all my apps previously downloaded for my Razr MAXX in the Play Store but I still had to select the ones I wanted on the Nexus and download them from the Play store. At no time was the download automatic... I may have missed something... of course all my music was there without doing anything.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Android Central Forums

When you first turn on the N7 and setup your account, it will ask 1. if you want to restore your google account and 2. if you want this device to be backed up onto Google servers. IF you want all your apps to download, across ALL android platforms, then click restore account (via check box). Custom roms normally have that option but turn off the auto download feature. I did that the first time and realized the mistake. The N7 started to download Sprint apps.. yeah. I don't need that crap.

Otherwise all your apps associated with your google account will be in the play store to be downloaded at your own leisure.

An app that I have found to be indispensable is "Share My Apps" which allows me to create a list of all my installed apps (along with an optional Google Play Store link) and send it to myself:

There are other apps like this... The AC Apps of the week just reviewed one called MyAppsList:

Hope this helps someone...

Doug

why would you want to send it to yourself to know what you installed.
Go here and you will have the list of app installed on your device.

Yeah.. No real difficulty going through my app list and seeing what I had installed and remembering which, but then I don't have a gazillion different apps either. Enough to still take time to look through my list though.
