Definitely not a placebo effect.
CNET.com used to lag like crazy but now it's muuuuuch better.
I tried it within few minutes.
Glad they are improving it because the I absolutely love the desktop version

I've been wondering if had been the placebo effect as well. It definitely improved speed-wise. When I would scroll, it would have lag, and now it doesn't; at least for the smaller websites it doesn't. Also, try pinch zooming really fast. I believe it's a tad faster.

i feel a difference. its still not the best but a lot improved. with google mirroring the desktop with android chrome it could only get better.
