I used to get a vocal response when I ask something like current temperature or current time of a city, like New York, but now I only get a list of written options. (sorry I should post on 2013)

Thanks for the replay, I checked setting/voice/speech output, I have 'always speak' already. I re-did that setting anyway, but still no vocal response.

I think we all have it set the same way, it's by default. It no longer speaks as of the 4.3 update. I rarely use my N7 for this anymore so I didn't notice till I read this thread.

Now voice commands crash in MoDaCo Switch Beta 10, so I can't test. Sorry I can't be more informative.

Nexusgirl, Did you or didn't you get vocal response for time and temperature ? I am running 4.2, I was OK until last week. I did not change any settings. I did download a few apps.

After I read your first in this thread, I tried it and didn't get the voice telling me the time or temp. I tried it again later and it worked without making any changes.
