Ok.... A brief description....

Nexus 7 is on..... Sometimes it's in the dock..... Sometimes it's in the case.....

All seems fine and running.....

Then.... When not in use (in the case) or sometimes charging in the dock, It just shuts down and will only restart with a loooong press on hold of the power button.

Now.... I have cleared the cache and factory reset a few times.... Yet the problem is still there.

Last few times, I have cleared the Dalvik cache and then the factory reset.... The reset of cache works fine, but if I reset the cache prior to factory reset, the factory reset shows a bunch of errors trying to access the cache.... Error - E Drive - Can't access cache / etc.

I am doing this in stock recovery as the device is not rooted.

Am I doing something incorrectly or does it have to go back to Asus for a second time?

These issues didn't start occurring until after the last system update to 4.4.2

Lego.

I wonder if there's some installed app that is causing some instability. It can be hard to pinpoint if it happens seemingly at random. I'd suggest booting into Safe Mode and seeing if the problem recurs, but if it happens randomly, you might end up having to wait a while, and you won't have any access to the apps you installed.

It continues to do this still after a full cache clearing and Factory reset.

So, it's not a specific app.

Again, it will run as normal and then not in use, it goes to sleep... and it appears I can't wake it up with a very long press of the power key.

This causes the tablet to reboot.

Don't understand why it's occuring as I it in not rooted and doesn't have anything sideloaded...

HELP!

I was talking about Safe Mode, not clearing the cache. Safe Mode disables all user-installed apps so you can troubleshoot issues like this.

I get the same response in "safe mode".....

It appears that the root of the issue is clearing the dalvik cache.... Everytime I do this, the tablet have majors issues... Not fulling rebooting... or freezing.... won't wake to without a long press of the power button... etc...

So.... I have again "cleared" Dalvik and tried another factory reset...

This is the log when trying to reset:
This is what I get after clearing Dalvik and then trying a Factory Reset:

Anyone?
