In the spirit of free information sharing, here's how to use the Google+ backdoor to invite people now that invites are gone for a while.

The person you're inviting must have a Google profile set up. You'll know if they do when you go to add them to a circle.

create a new circle. name it anything, but remember which one it is.
add the person you want to invite to THAT CIRCLE. If it tells you they need a name when you try to add them, they have no Google profile and it's not going to work.
Only add one person to this circle.

Compose a new update message. Remove any circle tags, and add the circle you created for that friend. You'll get notified that you'll be sharing via email. Cool. Do it.

That person will get an email, with a red button they can click to learn more. Clicking that button will get them to the account set up page, as long as they are logged in to Google. After they have signed in to Gooogle+, delete that circle you created. you can then add your friend to any circle you like.

this doesn't seem to work everytime. My success rate is probably 75 ish %.

Add your friends, point them here, have them pass the favor along.

When I had my friend apply this method, I did not even receive the email.

Jerry I was able to get 10 people in by typing something, hitting share, and entering their email in.
I didn't choose a circle.
I am tapped out right now but when I get more I will invite more.
