Weird problem with nightlies

Not sure why this is happening, maybe somebody here knows. When I try to install nightlys, it gets to the green cyanogen-mod screen, then crashes and goes back to moboot. But installing alpha2 works fine using the exact same method, and the problem persists with many different dates of the nightlys.

Here's my exact steps:
1. Format Data
2. Format Cache
3. Format System
4. Format Dalvik
5. Flash ROM, leaving gapps out until I can solve
then try to boot

These steps work perfect with alpha2 and earlier, but not with any nightlys I've tried.
Here's the ones I've tried.

Any help or feedback would be great.

All I do is format cache, format Dalvik, load newest nightly build.

And sometimes (because I forget!) I don't even wipe caches and just install Nightly via CWM straight.. no probelmos!

Hmm. Well i just read that official nightlys just started from the cyanogenmod team. Going to give those a shot.

Edit: Official nightlys aren't working either, so obviously I'm doing something wrong. Going to restore alpha 2 again and try only cache and dalvik like alan...

Edit2: Figured it out, apparently alpha2 and before don't care if you wipe system, but anything after will crash, so no more wiping system for me... Never had this problem before with any android, so it's new to me.
