Real Life Battery life

I crack myself up. Turned on BT...but work had me hoppin today so virtually no use of my phone. OPC is just plain stupid sometimes.

Even without much use that is still pretty damn good. I cannot get close to that at all. I have used 29% in 15 hours 30 mins (which is still pretty damn good) and that is with very light use also, only 30 mins SOT. How you are getting a full day on 20% I don't know, but that is fantastic :)

Your last published screen shot shows a lot of "Held Awake" time. Thats time whether or not hte screen is on that the CPU is crunching on something. Large periods of Held Awake means maybe a background process has gone rogue or something of that nature. Depending on what you have installed will lead you more to whats keeping your CPU doing something.

Youll notice that the S7e screen shot above and mine have very little Held Awake time.

Good point. How does one go about trying to determine what is keeping the Held Awake to be high?

You can see if GSam root unlock functionality works (I have not tried but it didnt work on my DNA). Its, unfortunately, a process of elimination. I dont tweet, facebook or anything like that. I have Gmail, and two other email accounts. The Gmail is push notificaiton...the others being of low importance are once an hour checks.

Doze is pretty awesome. Probably one of the best things they have put in the OS. Helps a ton with that idle :D.

The 1st day I had my phone battery life was AMAZING. Since then not so much.
Almost 10% per hour playing mp3, sending emails and texts. Web browsing drains battery fast even with screen at 50% or less. Wondering if it's the quick charge? Would slapping the type c cable into my old M8 charger make for a longer lasting battery?

I wonder why my battery life sucks so bad ? How does that doze feature work in this os ? Something i have to turn on or its automatically activated when the phone is not being in use ? Any advice would be great thank you

While I don't have any problems getting through the day it seems like the 10 is going through the battery much more than my MXPE. Might not be, maybe I'm just more aware of it since the 10 has a usable battery percentage on the status bar.

Had to get a replacement because my first one had SD card issues. My second one gives me the same bad standby time. I know people always want to hunt for an app keeping things awake, but I've got the same setup as all my other phones. This phone just gets the worst standby time I've experienced on a phone in years. It's not a deal breaker but it is troubling to wake up to find your phone has drained 6-8% in 8 hrs doing nothing.

Losing ~6% over 8 hours is bad? That's what i normally see when I don't leave it charging overnight, Mine's getting emails, whatsapp messages, and any other texts or notifications during that time (on silent of course), but its still getting that pushed to it. I don't turn off Bluetooth either, so i'm sure that causes some drain as well.

It's bad based on my experience. I'm used to phones losing up to 3% or so.

Same. 1% per hour is great. And, when considering how fast it recharges, it's a complete non issue to me. If someone is bothered by it, far be it from me to deny them of their right to feel that way but saying battery life sucks because it lost 6% overnight is something I can't understand.

I said *standby* sucks. I never said it had bad battery life in general. I also stated, and then further clarified that it sucks based on my experience, comparing it to other phones that drain much less in the same timeframe. Not hard to understand.

No need for that. I think my last post would still apply to your response. I'm not denying you of your opinion. We can all have different perspectives. It's cool.

For those who have a battery drain issue, don't use quick charge if you do not need it. I have experience that charging with regular slow charge the battery drains slower and last longer.

What? I'm sorry I don't see how quick charge and battery draining (software) has any relation with each other. Personally I'm not using any phone without quick charge. If you have phone issues due to quick charge then you should return for an exchange because that shouldn't be happening.

Got my phone early this week and set it up on Tuesday. Since then, I've run it through 3 or 4 cycles, and so far I'm very happy with battery.

I use cellphone as my work phone for business and my typical day is office based on wifi most of time. I usually will be on telephone calls 2-3 hours a day, streaming audio 3-4 hours, synching 3 email accounts with heavy use, and browsing internet for 2+ hours. My screen on time is running 4-5 hours consistently. I typically charge phone first thing in morning when I hit office, then take it off charger as soon as it hits 100%. My day starts at 6 AM and by end of day around 10-11 pm, I still have 20-30% charge. I typically only see 3% loss in charge while sleeping (6-7 hours).

I'm sure if I was on road and relying on cellular signal for data I'd see a reduction in battery life, but for my typical use pattern, this phone performs great for my needs.
