Unrooting using fastboot

I attempted to use fastboot to unroot my EVO 3d. The drivers only seem to be installed when the phone is on. When I go into hboot fastboot mode the drivers disappear from the device manager. What am I doing wrong?

What do mean your using fastboot to unroot? Are trying to relock the bootloader?
Just try a fastboot command like "fastboot reboot "
