non-stock car mode phone dialer problem

so im about to go on a trip and plan on using my phone as my gps. i know that the device comes pre-loaded with a car app, but i wanted to try out alternatives. my only problem so far is whenever i open up one of the alternative car apps (btw, i have 3. they are: car dock home v3, carhome ultra, and car dashboard), the call button in the dialer is cutoff (as you in the attached image) this only happens when im in the alternative car apps. anyone else encounter this problem?
