Novice to Rooting...

Hello guys. I am new to the whole rooting scene & need some serious help. Ive been reading up about it but am pretty nervous about making a mistake & bricking my phone. I was planning to use Unrevoked to root & unlock nand. But i saw that my phone baseband version wasnt supported.

My phone is an: HTC EVO 4G;
Android version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: 2.15.00.0808
Kernel version:
2.6.35.10-g13578ee
htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Build number: 4.53.651.1 CL133994 release-keys
Software number: 4.53.651.1

I started the process but i have a small snag... I started the S-Off tool but the problem was I didnt know what to do. To install the recovery...

Once you get through the key, and get s-off, just keep going and it flashes recovery. Then, turn off your phone, wait a sec, or pull the battery...then hold the volume down button and press power (with the battery back in of course) until it boots into clockwork recovery. From there you can either backup, or install zip from SD/Choose Zip file from SD/and select the su app you put on the root of the SD card. Then you're rooted. At that point or before flashing the SU file, do a backup and name it something like "OrigGoodBackup" or "ICE" or something...

Well the problem is i have S-Off & i didnt install the recovery i just rebooted the phone to stock rom. I have Amon_Ra's custom recovery.img & the pc36img.zip files... Idk what to do with them so im pretty much stuck. Ive tried resuming the S-off tool process but i cant... So now i have to do it manually.

Put the P36IMG.zip on root of SD card then press volume down buttton plus power you will boot in to hboot it will regconize it and ask to update press up for yes then it will install then it will ask to reboot say no and go into recovery u should have a recovery now . After that delete the P36imy.zip off SD card or rename it so it won't ask to update again
