Old story ... is it bricked for good??

Ok it been a while since i messed with my no working evo. Originally many months ago all was fine. rooted and working then something happened while screwing with it after that it was stuck in a boot loop. Since then Ive tried oh so many different things and it seemed to only get worse. Now i thought i would try again. Using ruu i found 1 that gets stuck at and error saying it needs the complete package. (see pics)

Is there any hope for this phone or is it dead?

How did you root it (method), and do you have a working custom recovery?

If you can get into recovery, wipe everything and flash new rom.
