my evo is rooted , how do i get the new update and still stay rooted

You don't. Not from the official ota anyway. There are roms coming that you can flash.

There is one way to do it I have read in the forums, but it looks to me to be more complicated than flashing a rom.

That's my point, op is going to have to flash a rom and Not try to do the ota update. Several really good ones seem to be in the works.

In the works?????

My friend it took around 3 hours after the update dropped for this one to come out.

Its from xHausx, yes it started out from the leaked version a few weeks ago. But when the official version dropped it took him almost no time to transfer over the work he did in the leaked version to the official one.

Here's the link to the thread over at xda:
Released 6/5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038701

Here's a few more from xda too.

Released 6/10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118063

Released 6/8-10-11: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1110187

Plus at least 3 more that are all based off of the latest 2.3.3 Gingerbread ota from Sprint.

I flashed the one from xHausx on the 6/5 to use when I updated my PRL and profile. Plus I wanted to see just how much or little it has changed or improved. Its totally stock, just the way Sprint released it. The only problem is that its been about 8 months or so sence I've used a Sense based rom. Can't really remember how it ran on 2.2.
