Here was my issue: I have two friends who are married that both listed one cell phone on their facebook contact information. Syncing with Facebook, HTC Sense would identify all incoming text messages as the wife, whom I never chat with via text. It was driving me insane.
What I did to fix the issue: After trying to unsync Facebook for HTC Sense and not liking that my friends' pics weren't updating, I realized that I could simply link the wife to my buddy's account and set him as the default display.
Now, when I type in their number, only he shows up. If I type her name, only her e-mail displays and not the phone number. This is perfect and could be used in issues like mine or others where people have hundreds of fakebook friends that they don't actually want to talk to. Simply make a single contact (i.e. "Fake Friend") and link everybody you don't actually care about.
