HTC EVO Dialer Question!!!!

Can anyone provide any information on this. I hear about all the other great features but one of the worst features I have encountered with the EVOs little brother the Hero is the crappy dialer lag. Can anyone confirm that this thing is snappy when sifting thru contacts. Also does it have some sort of proximity sensor. When I had my iphone the screen would turn off nicely when I pressed it to my ear; preventing me from pressing buttons.

I have both the Hero and the Evo. The Evo's dialer is snappy, no doubt. Way better than the Hero's. And yes, the Evo does have a proximity sensor and shuts off the screen when holding it up to your ear during a call.
